Founder and Managing Director of GCS, Andrew Johnstone has a masters of science degree in hydrogeology, he is a registered professional natural scientist and is a member of the Groundwater Division of South Africa, the International Mine Water Association, Water Institute of Southern Africa, the International Association of Hydrogeologists and is a member of the Geological Society of South Africa. Andrew is a director of IWS.
Kate Cain holds a BSC and is a registered professional natural scientist, she has over 10 years of experience in water supply investigations and licensing. Kate is a director of IWS.
Adam Gunn has 20 years of experience in the environmental and water sectors. He was integrally involved in finding a solution to the problem of Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) on the Witwatersrand Gold Mines. He has a masters degree in Law which includes water law. Adam is the managing director of IWS.
Esta van Heerden holds a PhD in biochemistry from the University of the Free State. She is a leading scientist in microbial remediation of soils and water. Esta is a registered professional natural scientist and is a member of the South African Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the International Mine Water Association, Water Institute of Southern Africa, Association of South African Women in Science and Engineering and is a member of the Environmental Law Society. Esta is a director of IWS.
Kate Anderson holds a BEng in chemical engineering from Stellenbosch University and a MSc in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College, London. Kate has experience in the design, installation and commissioning of mine reclamation and desalination water treatment plants. Kate is a member of the Water Institute of Southern Africa and is a director of IWS.
